Kruger Collection Guided Tour*

Kruger Gallery, first floor of Architecture Hall
The Kruger Collection contains approximately 20,000 pieces of miniature furniture, decorative arts and accessories that represent nearly all the major English and American design styles. The Kruger Gallery draws from this collection for an annual exhibit featuring 15 room boxes of miniature scenes. This tour will feature the exhibition and storage areas. There is no cost to attend. Space is limited, so pre-registration is recommended.
OLLI Presentation: Research at UNL*

You will have the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of research conducted at UNL. In the words of Dr. Prem Paul, Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development, “Our faculty is addressing important challenges for Nebraska, our nation and the world. From climate change and renewable energy to childhood literacy and transportation safety, their research is being published in high impact journals and they are being recognized for their contributions with prestigious awards and honors.” Additionally, learn a bit more about OLLI (The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) and the other classes available to OLLI members. There is no cost to attend, but numbers are limited and pre-registration is required.

Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center Dedication*
5 p.m.
You are cordially invited to join the campus community and the Gaughan family for the formal dedication of this new facility. Doors open at 4:30 with the dedication program at 5. The Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center is a 30,000 square-foot building connected to the Nebraska Union. The space is available for all students and is intended to replace the old culture center on North 14th Street. There is no cost to attend this event, and pre-registration is not required.

The museum displays more than 40 historic tractors that trace the developments in power, safety and innovation. The museum is open weekdays from 8:30 – 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Admission is free, but a suggested donation is $3 per person.
Lentz Center for Asian Culture
Hewit Place, Lower Level, 1155 Q Street
As an entity within the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, the Lentz Center for Asian Culture is dedicated to the enrichment of knowledge and understanding of Asia, and is the only museum in Nebraska devoted solely to Asian Art. The center is open Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1:30 – 4 p.m. Admission is free, but a suggested donation is $2 per person.
Nebraska State Museum
The University of Nebraska State Museum is a natural history museum featuring the world-famous Elephant Hall, where visitors see the world's largest articulated fossil mammoth among the premier collection of fossil elephants. Also featured are interactive paleontology exhibits, a dinosaur gallery, ancient life and evolution exhibits, wildlife dioramas, gems and minerals and American Indian exhibits. The museum is open 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 5 – 18, free for children 4 and under.

International Quilt Study Center & Museum

Great Plains Art Museum
The Christlieb Collection serves as the foundation of the Great Plains Art Museum’s permanent collection. The collection features bronze sculptures, paintings and drawings, other works on paper and photographs, and includes artwork by Albert Bierstadt, William de la Montagne Cary, Robert F. Gilder, William Henry Jackson, Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell and Olaf Wieghorst. The library contains an impressive 7,500 volumes, consisting of several Western novels and many other fiction and nonfiction books about the West and the Great Plains. The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1:30 – 5 p.m. Admission is free.
