Big 12 Championship Tour Recap
An impressive group of former NFL stars highlighted the alumni association’s Big 12 Championship pre-game Husker Huddle in Dallas Dec. 5. Former Huskers Danny Noonan, Lawrence Pete, Will Shields and Neil Smith shared stories from their NFL playing days, Husker memories and thoughts on the 2009 team with the 1,200 fans at the Huddle.
In addition, UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman and Athletic Director Tom Osborne stopped by to greet fans. DJ Craig Estudillo and Guy Rozier, Assistant Director of Development for the NU Athletic Department, shared emcee duties.
Many of the fans at the Huddle traveled to Dallas as part of the official alumni association tour, which was offered in partnership with the Nebraska Athletic Department. The trip also included lodging at the team hotel, game tickets and access to an event with Husker Sports Network on the eve of the championship game. Former Husker great Tommie Frazier helped host the trip.
